How the “healthy” trend is hurting us

Sometimes I hate how #trendy health has become.

I mean, I guess I’d rather green smoothies & charcoal everything be “in” as opposed to something like, say, cigarettes or high fructose corn syrup, but as with most trends, the rise in popularity of
#HealthyLifestyle
#MindBody
#HolisticHealth
#HealthCoach

has severely blurred the central concept of the whole trend to begin with.

Don’t get me wrong — I am a “health coach” as the kids are saying these days (of which I am one- #1993, baby! ) but I hesitate to even identify as such because of the misconceptions, false advertisements, and societal pressures & connotations that exist around the “healthy living” and “health coach” trend of late.

I also recognize that “health” and “healthy” were gray concepts before me and my millennial friends and all the CrossFitters and Paleo/Vegan/Intermittent Fasting warriors blurred them even more, but they’ve just gone from gray to gray-er.
